About - Evangelical Christian Church of Angola

Evangelical Christian Church of Angola

The Evangelical Christian Church of Angola is a religious entity, non-profit in nature, established indefinitely, and with an unlimited number of members. It consists of organized churches and congregations that enjoy relative autonomy and adopt the Old and New Testament Scriptures as their sole rule of faith and practice. Their confession of faith serves as an expository system of doctrine and practice.

The Evangelical Christian Church of Angola aims to worship God in spirit and truth, preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth, baptize converts, teach the faithful to uphold the doctrine and practice of the Old and New Testament Scriptures in their purity and integrity. It also promotes the application of principles of Christian fraternity and spiritual growth of its members in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mt 28:28; 2Pet 3:18; Jo 4: 23-24).

The Evangelical Christian Church will maintain interdenominational relations with all conservative churches, that is, those that have the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice, and JESUS CHRIST as the head.

The ICEA recognizes that the Ecclesiastical Ministry is of divine vocation and calling, so it makes no distinction between the licensed and the unlicensed. However, it strives for its ministers to be proficient in handling the word so that they are not ashamed (2 Tm 2:15).

The ICEA guarantees social security for effective workers as well as their protection in disability and survivors - minor children and the worker’s wife, in case of death. Such guarantee will be regulated in a collective agreement to be established.

The power of the Evangelical Christian Church of Angola is Spiritual and Administrative. It resides in the corporation, that is, in those who govern and those who are governed, and is exercised by members gathered in Assembly and Councils, to:

a) Elect church officials or request their dismissal;

b) Pronounce on administrative and budgetary issues;

c) Deliberate on the acquisition of properties, all in accordance with the rules established by the competent councils.

The authority of those who govern is of order and jurisdiction.

It is of order when exercised by officials, individually, in the administration of sacraments and in the impetration of blessings by Ministers.

It is of Jurisdiction when exercised collectively by officials, in councils, to legislate, judge, admit, exclude or transfer members and administer communities.
